STINKYLIPS - Stinkylipus Maximus EP
(Ovaproof Records)
>>
Brisbane solo MC Stinkylips brings us a debut EP of his experiences and alcoholism

The intro to Stinkylips' EP is intriguing, full of dark-sounding beats heavy with electro bleeps and buzzes. The production is top-notch, with Stinkylips' considerable know-how very much in evidence, and his beats are head-noddingly rugged. The Stinkylipus Maximus and Letterbomb Attack are the standout tracks here, but even though the other tracks don't quite pack as much punch, lyrically Stinkylips serves it up with the best of them, with great cadences and mic presence. He clearly owes a debt to Vinnie Paz and Ill Bill but nonetheless brings a distinctive style of his own

Stinkylipus Maximus
STINKYLIPS
(
Ovaproof Records)

This is the debut EP from Brisbane solo MC Stinkylips and it is an impressive effort for
a self-produced independent release.
The eight tracks have a true hip hop feel with shades of Cypress Hill, Eminem and others but the overall sound is distinctly Australian.
Track 6, "Brizvegas" is a highlight with well thought-out lyrics and a catchy beat but the level of quality is high throughout. Recommended.
